Liam Flood is a student at the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn" in Mechelen, Belgium. He previously took coursework at the North American Carillon School. The carillon is the only instrument he plays, and he taught himself to read music before beginning to learn in 2020. Liam played the Altgeld Chimes while studying at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and was an associate carillonist of the Netherlands Carillon (Arlington, Virginia) from 2023 to 2025. He was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago.
