Patrick Macoska received the Master of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit in 1975 and concurrently studied music at Marygrove College in Detroit. Patrick studied carillon with Margo Halsted at the University of Michigan and with Todd Fair at the Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. He played his GCNA advancement recital in 1997 at the University of Kansas. Patrick served two terms on the Board of Directors of the GCNA and served as Chairperson of the Examinations Committee. He was carillon consultant for several instruments and is the author of Carillon Tower Design and Construction for the GCNA and was a member of the World Carillon Federation Committee on Keyboard Standards, for which he documented the new Standard in drawing form (PDF available on the WCF website) After careers in architecture and church music in Michigan, Patrick moved back to his hometown of Cleveland in 2017, where he is currently chapel organist at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and associate organist at St. Patrick Church – Bridge Avenue, and is an occasional guest carillonneur at the Church of the Covenant. Patrick also serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the McGaffin Carillon in University Circle and is involved in efforts to fund a full renovation of the carillon
