   On the hour, a Bortniansky tune is
   played automatically on 12 bells rehung
   in the lantern (above the zvon: PK/1).

*Remarks:

   Original carillon (maker unknown) was
   destroyed by fire on 30 April 1756.
   This, made by J.N.Derck and a Russian
   founder, was the second carillon; its
   treble range ended C,C#,D# (no D);
   now largely unused (6 bells lost, others
   scattered throughout the tower).

   Electric-automatic carillon of 38 bells
   Pitch of heaviest bell (excluding sub-bourdon) is C  in the middle octave
   Transposition is nil (concert pitch)
   Keyboard range: (A )C **  /    ----  
   There are two missing bass semitones
   The whole instrument was installed in 1757
     by the maker cited in Remarks above
   Prior history:
     In 1720, the instrument was begun with 35 bells
       by the maker cited in Remarks above
       (00 bells remain from that work.)
