Indexes to traditional carillons
  in North America

There is a page of site-specific information for each of the traditional-keyboard carillons in North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States of America).  To make it easy for you to find the page or site you seek, or to discover information about relationships among them, they are indexed in several different ways, as follows:

• by state or province and city (as a list)

• by city and site-name, including "(Traveling)"

  If you are looking for a specific site by its institutional name (e.g., a church or school) or by the instrument's proper name, pick either of the above indexes and then use the "find in page" feature of your Web browser to locate a distinctive word (or partial word) in that name.

• by geographical location (as a regional locator map, via Google Maps customization)

• by number of bells

• by pitch (or approximate weight) of largest bell

• by year of completion (last bells installed)

• by bellfounder and year of installation, including each phase of multi-phase instruments

• by religious denomination (including "none")

• by type of institution [PLANNED]

Other categorizations:

• Milestones in the history of traditional carillons in North America.

• A special index to the concert class carillons in North America, i.e., those of 4 octaves or more, according to the year in which they attained that status.

• A special index to the complete, single-phase carillons in North America, i.e., those which are still as originally installed (with respect to the bells in them, at least).

• A special index to the North American chimes which could be called mini-carillons (i.e., they are more chromatic than diatonic).

NOTE:  Instruments which were originally installed with a traditional keyboard but were later converted to use only non-traditional mechanisms are not included in these indexes.  They can be found throughout the indexes to non-traditional carillons, but are also separately listed in an index of degraded instruments.
