The foundry's new Website is primarily in French, but some parts are available in Spanish, UK English and American English (possibly identical).  It describes the foundry's history (dating from 1796), production (over 120,000 bells) and capabilities (bells, clocks, towers and related equipment).

Historical Notes:

The Paccard bellfoundry began in 1796 with work by Antoine Paccard (1770-180) at Quintal.  The foundry remained there until 1857, when it was moved a short distance to Annecy-le-Vieux.  In 1989 it was moved to its present location.

Prof. Arthur Bigelow (1910-1967) of Princeton University provided bells for various carillons and chimes in the USA.  Some of those bells he obtained from Paccard, and such work is included in the list above.  Some of those bells he cast himself, and those are separately indexed.

In 1950, Bigelow and Paccard cooperated on the design and production of replicas of the American Liberty Bell for use in the Savings Bond campaign of that year.  A replica was made for each state--total 52.  A troop of Boy Scouts in Wyoming were involved in activities which may be typical of the uses to which these bells were put.  (Photo at end of that page.)

The Paccard foundry has been represented in the USA by a descendant of the Dutch bellfounding family van Bergen; see the interconnected histories.
