Ulrich, Apolda, 1923, was the heaviest
swinging bell in the world until 1998.
It replaces a heavier bell by Andreas
Hamm, 1874, which was broken up in 1918
for munitions. Bourdon G c.10500kg,
by Heinrich Brodermann & Christian
Cloit, was the largest bell in the
western world when cast in 1448.
