*Schedule:

   (unused)

*Remarks:

Added semitones: the usual sharp 4th &
   flat 7th plus minor 6th & flat 9th.
Four bass bells also swing by rope,
   from chiming room.
Originally documented by the maker as
being in the key of D-flat, though
chimestand is labelled in E-flat; but
   modern measurements of the tenor
put it close to concert D-natural.
   Transmission chains long ago replaced
by cables, but long keystroke remains.
   Nov.2010: two chime notes inoperable.

*Technical data:

Traditional chime (chimestand) of 15 bells
Pitch of heaviest bell is C# in the middle octave
   Transposition is down 2 semitone(s)
   Keyboard range: D#G# / NONE
   There are four added semitones
The whole instrument was installed in 1912
     with bells made by McShane
Year of latest technical information source is 1969

The Cathedral Website has a tiny photo of the building; the East Tower is the one on the right.  This chime is not mentioned anywhere.

An old postcard shows the building as it was long ago.  Another version is here (though the claim of "largest chime" transcribed from the card is incorrect, and was when the card was published).
